研究概要

VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor:血管内皮増殖因子)は、正常/生理的および異常/病理的の何れの環境下においても、（毛細）血管新生、細小動脈および大血管の何れの脈管形成にも関与する主要な多因子性サイトカインである。この研究において、我々はバングラデシュの農村部の女性のVEGFレベルを計測し、VFGFレベルが閉経後女性の糖尿病の重要なリスク因子であることを臨床的に確認した。加えてこの研究で、バングラデシュの1,800人の女性のVEGFレベルを計測し、その基準値を確定した。
