系外惑星を探る新しい眼-大気光学過程の解明と観測可能性の追求

研究概要

大気中の光の伝播の定式化およびトランジット系外惑星の大気を通過してくる光線の屈折角の精密な公式を導出した.この公式は小さいインパクトパラメータにおいても精度のよい屈折角を与える.トランジット時の高度曲線からスケールハイトを決定する方法論を構築した.上記の公式を用いてレイトレーシングの計算を,等温静水圧平衡にある大気について行い,惑星サイズの見かけの増加の効果の系統的研究を行った.これについては観測波長による差異の計算も行った.理論の実証が容易な木星の観測に結果を応用した.その結果,理論は観測をある程度まで説明できるものの,観測結果と理論計算結果の間にはまだ差が残ることもわかった.理論モデルには考慮されていない効果がまだ効いていることを示唆する.
