| 研究実績の概要 |
During FY2023, progress was made on the research project in line with the stated aims and timetable. Specifically, this includes the collation and preparation of national, prefectural, and municipal recidivism prevention promotion plans for purposes of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, as well as a search of the Japanese literature relating to the research topic.

理由
Unfortunately, the research encountered some delays during FY2023 which were unforeseen at the time of application. In particular, the lead researcher spent a considerable amount of time on job applications, interview preparation, and other job-related preparation. Engaging in this necessary but additional (and uncompensated) labour had a direct impact on the ability to pursue the research as anticipated.

| 今後の研究の推進方策 |
In FY2024, I intend to carry on making progress with the first part of the research plan (analysis of national and local recidivism prevention policy). Specifically, I intend to start data analysis of the documents that were collated during FY2023. This will involve a slight change to the original plan, with a heavier focus placed on quantitative content analysis. In addition, whilst new commitments owing to a change in job position are creating added burdens and may lead to further delays, it is my hope to hire a research assistant during the summer and winter holiday periods. This would speed up progress on the more mundane research tasks and provide more time for conducting analysis.

| 次年度使用額が生じた理由 |
The budget for FY2023 included expenses for computer equipment. However, owing to a change in university and job position, and associated procedures, I decided that it would be easier to make any large purchases after starting the new position in FY2024. Additionally, the time/resources incurred through changing job positions also meant that I decided to not participate in any international conferences during FY2023.
