研究実績の概要 |
In the third year (FY2015) the project was concentrated on constructing models of interdependence between human capital accumulation, economic structural change, education, preference change, environment economics and population dynamics. In this year the project also started to examine gold and land values dynamics. I mainly constructed a few models, which will play important roles in further studies. I have completed some articles. I published 17 papers in peer-review journals and made two presentations in two international conferences. I also focused on explaining the complexity of income and wealth distribution. In my article “How Do the Richest 1% Own 50% of Global Wealth in an Integrated Walrasin-General-Equilibrium and Oniki-Uzawa's Trade Theory”, for instance, I proposed a dynamic economic model of heterogeneous households to explain economic mechanisms of how the richest one per cent of the population own 50% of national wealth. I showed how wealth accumulation, human capital accumulation, and division of labor, and time distribution interact with each other under perfect competition. I simulated the model with three groups of the people, the rich, the middle, and the poor whose shares of the population are, respectively, the 1%, 69%, and 20%. I demonstrated the existence of an equilibrium point at which the rich 1% own more than half of the national wealth and the poor 20% less than 10% of the national wealth.

理由
In the last three years the project conducted a comprehensive review of the current literature of human capital accumulation, education dynamics, preference change, population economics, environment economics and resource economics. The project has also constructed models of dynamic interactions between capital, environment and resource dynamics. I constructed some models, which will play important roles in further studies. I had developed some growth models with environment, resources, land, and gold. The project is progressing more smoothly than initially planned. In these three years, basing on my previous models, I mainly dealt with issues related to interactions among growth, human capital, land, preference change, environment and resources with economic structures. The project also participated in some international conferences to represent the research results and to learn from other researchers in the field.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
In FY2016 I will further develop models to explain various aspects of human capital with education, preference change, environment, land distribution, gold value and distribution, renewable resource, multi-regional and multi-country economic growth and development, heterogeneous households, endogenous capital accumulation and technological change. I also begin to explore business cycles, economic oscillations. In the early FY2016 I will study land and gold distributions and values by introducing these two important assets into my previous models and will also examine oscillations in some of my previous works by applying nonlinear analytical tools. It is a well-mentioned fact that traditional growth theories have not been successfully extended to include endogenous land and gold values within a compact analytical framework because there is no proper economic modeling framework for properly dealing with the complicated interactions in a consistent manner. It is difficult to develop a comprehensive economic theory as it involves highly dimensional dynamic systems which tend to become analytically intractable. The rest of the project will continue to develop an integrated economic theory on the basis on my previous research on nonlinear dynamics, economics growth with endogenous knowledge and economic structure, growth with income and wealth distribution, growth with money, growth with environment, growth with resources, and spatial economics and international economics.
