研究概要 |
In FY2013, I have produced fullerene (C60) microcrystals; zero to higher dimensions, at liquid-liquid interfaces of alcohols and aromatic solvents. These crystals were fully characterized by using XRD, SEM, TEM, Raman scattering, FTIR, and XPS. Morphology of C60 crystals is found to depend on the solvents molecular architecture. Now I am designing mesoporous C60 crystals. Preliminary results show that release of entrapped solvent molecules within the solvated C60 crystal results pore formation and this could be achieved by simple air drying or more effectively upon thermal treatment at higher temperatures > 1000C.
