He has visited cities of Ferghana, Marghilan, Namangan, Andijan, Qoqon. 3. The researcher has conducted a fieldwork towns and cities of in Kyrgyzstan in February & March, 2014. The researcher spent several days working at the Central Archives in Bishkek, where he managed to access important documents. Then he had visited three cities in Kyrgyzstan (Osh, Djalalabad, Uzgen). He conducted 16 interviews with residents and community leaders and experts. 4. The undertaken desk research and fieldworks in two countries (Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan) was significant because they helped the researcher to understand the historical, political, economic and socio-cultural conditions leading to poverty and to study the role of the state. 今後の研究の推進方策 |
The researcher will continue to investigate this research problem, but in 2014 he will focus on the relationship between poverty and conflict in post-Socialist states of Central Asia. All fieldworks will employ the “focus group” interviews as a method of data collection, because it provides wider possibility for the analysis of group behaviour and perception. The researcher has started to process the collected data at the moment (April 2014). By June-August he is planning to start publishing his preliminary findings and promote the newly generated ideas among the academic community.
