研究実績の概要

In Fiscal Year 2015 the project was carried on further, together with independent collaborators, but not with any student (research assistant), since I could not hire any because of bureaucratic reasons related to my position in the university. Anyway, the coupling of the finite-differencing code and the particle-in-cell code has proceeded past the stage of calibration and the first investigations of physical scenarios in approximated dynamics are being performed, focusing primarily on regions surrounding neutron-star surfaces. The work has been focussed on finding the sufficient resolution to exchange data between the finite-difference code and the particle-in-cell code, also with heavy use of mesh-refinement techniques, through which we have achieved competitively small spacing. In order to speed up work, I have finally been able to hire a research assistant for two months in FY 2016 and another assistant is scheduled to join me in a few months for the duration of a month.

理由

Actually the project has proceeded as scheduled in FY 2015, but there is
some delay due to the delay accumulated in the previous FY
2014. Furthermore, also in FY 2015 I was not able to hire research
assistants, but I have one now in FY 2016. This may speed up progress.

今後の研究の推進方策

The plans for the research scheme will not be substantially
changed. However, this fiscal year I will dedicate more time to this
project, together with collaborators and research assistants, so progress
should be faster. As mentioned above, I have found a research assistant who
may assist me in this project.
