研究実績の概要 |
The Coulomb interaction between electrons leads to the formation of magnetic moments in the semiconductor. We published a study of how these magnetic moments affect the Anderson transition. (Joint work with D. Jung and S. Kettemann in Physical Review B.)
Magnetic moments break time reversal symmetry. We estimated the effect on the critical exponent. (Joint work with T. Ohtsuki in the Journal of the Physical Society of Japan.).
We have performed simulations of the semiconductor in which the Coulomb interaction is included using density functional theory. A key point when analysing wavefunction data is to distinguish the metallic and insulating phases . We began an attempt to do this by applying recent progress in machine learning. (Joint work with Y. Harashima and T. Ohtsuki.)

We are trying a new approach for analysing the wavefunction data from our simulations and it is taking time to understand this method and find the best way to apply it.

今後の研究の推進方策 |
We will continue simulations of the doped semiconductor. We will continue to investigate different ways of analysing the wavefunction data from the simulation including applying recent progress in machine learning, i.e. the application of convolutional neural networks.

Upgrade of some computer hardware and software has been postponed until this year.

Upgrade and renewal of necessary software licenses including software for numerical computing, fortran compilation, source control, graphing and visualization, software development, reference management and manuscript preparation. Upgrade of computer hardware. Travel expenses for participation in relevant workshops and conferences.
