研究実績の概要 |
We could find several eye gaze and eye movement features related to user expertise especially for reading and other (stationary) reading tasks. Most interestingly saccade velocity is a novel feature contributing to comprehension detection, so far not discussed in other related work. We could extend related work detecting stress and attention (using pupil diameter changes and eye blinks) towards estimating expertise for comprehension, math and general problem solving. As mentioned previously, we moved from a tablet based experiments to eyewear, as it's less obtrusive and more versatile. Regarding the non-stationary, more mobile setups we conducted experiments with 2 high school classes (10 pupils per class) in Germany using smart eye wear (publication pending) and found, as with our previous research, eye blink rate and saccade velocity gave good correlations about perceived difficulty of work in class. In addition, to the research output, we were able to form a small community around human mind augmentation (expertise analysis and interactions towards increasing skills), by conducting 2 workshop collocated with UbiComp on Augmenting the Human Mind (WAHM 2014, WAHM 2015) andputting in a call for this years workshops for WAHM 2016. Additionally we organized a prestigious Dagstuhl Seminar with renown, international researchers on EyeWear Computing, the underlying enabling technology http://www.dagstuhl.de/16042
