Using the data collected during the first year (see previous year`s Summary of Research Achievements) I have had a colleague familiar with statistical analysis run a number of regressions and the data indicate a number of useful conclusions about the relationship between shareholder voting with regard to executive compensation and a number of firm characteristics. In particular it shows that rates of foreign ownership and company size are significantly correlated with voting patterns and the types of proposals management puts to their sharheolders meetings.
A draft of the final paper is near completion and will be submitted to a journal by this summer (2016).
Over the course of the final year of the project, I presented at the ASLI Conference hosted at the National University of Taiwan, and at the East Asian Law and Society Conference hosted at Waseda University.
