研究実績の概要

Graphene-analogous nanosheets are rising material stars, yet the common nanosheet powders have high contact resistance, weak porosity structure, and low surface area. Three dimensional designed structures of nanosheets are most desired to overcome such drawbacks and to deliver the unique properties of graphene-analogs to the macroscale; however their practical production remains insufficient. This project aims to develop novel three dimensional structures of carbon-nitrogen nanosheets by effective production and to study their applications in energy conversion, e.g. supercapacitors and lithium ion batteries.

We established a synthesis route, namely ammonium-assistant chemical blowing, to produce three dimensional strutted graphenes with low-nitrogen fraction in this year. The three dimensional architectures were applied as additive-free binder-free electrodes in supercapacitors, which realized high energy density of 50 Wh/kg at high power density (Nano Energy 2015, submitted). We will further push on the three dimensional strutted graphenes to other energy-related applications such as lithium ion batteries.

理由

The research in this project is basically conducted smoothly in plan. Parts of the research contents were slightly adjusted due to the real experimental progress. The total aim will be achieved in year H27.

今後の研究の推進方策

I will further study the cost-effective synthesis for three dimensional structures of carbon-nitrogen nanosheets, and study the lithium ion batteries based on three dimensional strutted graphenes.

次年度使用額が生じた理由

A little part of budgets were remained because there was no enough time to complete the experiments about improving the quality of our graphene products last year which was caused by the breakdown and repair of our furnaces. Such residual budgets are requested to be spent for completing the continuous improvement and modification of our products such as graphenes and their derivatives in H27, and for conferences to spread the study results to academic community. The requested budgets in H27 will be spent in plan for the application studies such as lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors based on graphenes and other materials.

The experimental consumables, chemicals and travel expenses for academic conferences.
