Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this research area, we aimed to elucidate the antigen-recognition mechanism of T cells and B cells and studied the properties of the immunological self. In other words, given that individual differences in the production of “neo-self” antigens and immune responses are based on differences in HLA, which differ from individual to individual, rather than the conventional “self” vs. “neo-self” immune response, the immune response I engaged in academic activities with the desire to clarify the role of HLA in Therefore, international academic activities are extremely important in this research area, and in order to arrive at the “neo-self” concept, not only immunology but also the integration of knowledge from different fields such as genetics and three-dimensional structural analysis is required. I proceeded with my research while realizing the need for important, multidisciplinary research to be conducted on a global scale.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
