Research Abstract |
"Frustration" represents the situation where several optimization conditions compete with each other so that the system cannot satisfy them simultaneously. In such "frustrated" systems, novel effects due to enhanced fluctuations arise, leading to an exotic order and a new thermodynamic phase. In this project, through integrated research of a variety of frustrated systems including magnets, metals, strongly correlated electrons and dielectrics, we have developed new material properties, new concepts and new functions induced by frustration
