Research Abstract

本新学術領域研究は「海底下の大河」という仮説を提出し、固体地球物理学のみならず、岩石・熱水化学や地下生物圏まで含めた大きな枠組みの中で、深海底研究に新たな領域の創成と展開を行うためのものである。本総括班の目的は、海洋底およびその地下という雲をつかむような大きな目標から「まな板」の上に乗るサイズの研究テーマを切り出して5つの計画研究班とし、その間にすき間や重複が無く、効率的かつ具体的な研究が遂行できるか、目配りをすることにある。
