Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2016年2月13日にLIGOが人類初の重力波を2015年9月14日に発見したと発表した。総括班はこれに関係して天文学会のpost dead line企画、物理学会のシンポジュウム、各種新聞へのコメント、学会誌や一般市民向けの各種雑誌への投稿、市民講演会等でその意義と今後の進展の予想の普及に努めた。このイベントはGW150914と呼ばれ太陽質量の30倍程度のブラックホール連星であるが、本領域ではすでに2014年に宇宙の初代星起源を予言していてそれがGW150914と見事に一致した。今年度には本領域から、別の起源として宇宙初期の密度揺らぎに伴う原始ブラックホール説が提案されダークマターの候補でもあるので世界的にも注目されている。また、星団系でのブラックホールの合体成長説も提案された。世界的にも多くの起源説が唱えられているが、どの説が正しいかはブラックホールの自転角運動量の分布と赤方偏移分布の決定が必須であり、我が国の将来計画DECIGOのような0.1Hz帯の宇宙重力波干渉計の建設が必要になった。これらは、領域の名前に相応しい「宇宙物理の新展開」である。LIGOのO2が2016年12月から現在も進行中で、X線と光学観測の２つの計画研究はLIGOとのMOUの下で共同観測を実施中である。取りまとめの科研費が採択されたので8月末に新しい結果も含めて領域のシンポジュウムを開催する。ニュートリノの計画研究はGdを入れた反ニュートリノ判定可能な世界初の200tの水チェレンコフ装置EGADSを予定通り2年間運転した。この運転実績はGdをsuper Kamiokandeに封入する決定にも繋がった。データ解析の計画研究は2016年3-４月のKAGRAの常温での試験観測のデータ取得に成功し、実データ転送の試験等に成功した。結論として、本領域は最初の想定を超えた成果を生みだしていると言える。
