Outline of Final Research Achievements |
We have elucidated the importance of "Lipoquality" in the pathogenesis of human disaseses, especially atherosclerosis, cancer, neuropathic pain, and skin diseases, by integrated approach of clinical studies and basic study. We measured and analyzed lipids and their related proteins using human samples such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, and surgical specimen and based on the results from these clinical studies, we performed basic experiments using animals and cells to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and possible therapeutic application. From this research, we have shown that the field of "Lipoquality" could develop through further translational researches in the future.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
