Outline of Annual Research Achievements

宇宙初期の連星形成過程において星形成ガス雲収縮時の角運動量輸送は非常に重要である。角運動量は磁場を通じて輸送されると考えられるため、磁場とガスとの結合度合いを決定するガス中の電離ので精密なモデル化を行う必要がある。そこでまず重元素がなく水素とヘリウムからなる始原ガスからの星形成の際に電離度を正しく記述することを目的に星間ガスのような低密度から星のような高密度まで広い密度領域で計算できる化学反応ネットワークを構築した。またこれを用いて今後の数値シミュレーションに組み込むために電離度を正しく記述するのに最小限必要なネットワークを決定した。
連星形成流体シミュレーションを実行するにあたり、長時間進化を追跡するためには既に星となった流体の部分をシンク粒子に置き換える必要がある。しかしながらシンク粒子の生成法は技術的に不明な部分があり、不適切な手法を用いると虚偽の分裂片が生成されるという問題があった。そこでシンク粒子を用いる方法とそうでない方法を比較することで、適切と思われる手法を構築した。またそれを用いて原始星降着過程の長時間進化を計算することで、初代星形成において分裂・合体の結果、最終的に残る星の数と形成環境の関係を解明した。
連星ブラックホールは星形成の結果、初めから連星として生まれるものもあれば、高密度な星団内部における多体重力相互作用の結果、形成されるものもある。後者の過程に関してはこれまで球状星団のような大星団で形成されるものが主であると考えられてきた。今回、重力多体系計算を実行することで、もっと小さな散開星団でも確率は低いながらも同様に連星が形成されることが分かった。小さい星団の個数は大星団よりも多いので、このことは散開星団が連星形成の主要な場となりえることを示唆する。
