金属ガラス/ナノ結晶粉末加熱による高密度バルク体の作製、構造変化と特性評価

Research Abstract

電場と磁場分離できる、加圧可能なシングルモードマイクロ波焼結装置(915MHz及び2.45GHz)を用いて、開発した高い熱的安定性、大過冷却液体領域(結晶化温度(Tx)-ガラス遷移温度(Tg))を有する金属ガラス合金粉末のマイクロ波誘起焼結を検討した。温度の制御は二種類(低温型 : 200編700℃ ; 高温型 : 350短1600℃)のファイバ式放射温度計により行った。加圧力を5MPaとし、ガラス遷移温度付近で焼結すれば、ポーラス金属ガラスCu_<50>Zr_<45>Al_5焼結体、Cu-Zr-Alガラス相-Fe結晶相の二相混合焼結体及びポーラスのNi59.35Nb34.45Sn6.2焼結体が作製出来た。また、ボールミリング法で作製したNi_<59>Ti_<16>Zr_<20>Sn_5, Ni_<60>Nb_<20>Ti_<15>Zr_5, Ni_<59>Ti_8Zr_<28>Sn_5などのガラス粉末の焼結体も作製出来た。金属ガラス-結晶相(例えば、Ni_<52.5>Zr_<15>Nb_<10>Ti_<15>Pt_<7.5>とSn)及び金属ガラスーポリマー(例えば、Cu_<50>Zr_<45>Al_5とpolyphenylenesulfide(C_6H_4S)_n)の複合焼結体も開発した。金属ガラス-ポリマー複合材料は金属ガラスの高強度と耐磨耗性及びポリマーの軽量で塑性変形し易いという双方の特長がある。また、高い水素密度を示す錯体水素化物をマイクロ波照射することで脱水素化反応への促進効果も実証した。専用試料チェンバーを作製し、四面と底部には金属板を使用し、上部を薄層金属粉末で遮蔽した状態で、チャンバー内部の金属粉末をマイクロ波で加熱できることも実証した。コア-シェル複合モードによる有効ミディアル近似法を用いて金属粉末のマイクロ波加熱を理論的に解明した。マイクロ波照射による、結晶金属や金属ガラス合金(例えば、Fe_<73>Si_7B_<17>Nb_3, Fe_<65>Co_<10>Ga_5P_<12>C_4B_4, Cu_<50>Zr_<45>Al_5, Ni_<65>Zr_<15>Nb_<10>Ti_<15>, Ni59Ti_<16>Zr_<20>Sn_5, Ni_<52.5>Zr_<15>Nb_<10>Ti_<15>Pt_<7.5>, Zr_<55>Cu_<30>Al_<10>Ni_5)の加熱挙動を検討し、Au, Ti以外の結晶金属や金属ガラスでは良好な加熱特性を有していた。AuやTiでは表面酸化皮膜が形成されていないか極めて薄いので、低加熱速度になることもわかった。Fe粉末やFe基金属ガラス粉末は強磁性なので、渦電流と磁気損失の効果により加熱速度を速くすることができ、Fe_<65>Co_<10>Ga_5P_<12>C_4B_4ガラスではマイクロ波誘起加熱によるナノ構造材料の作製に成功した。なお、スポンジTiについてはマイクロ波加熱できることも実証した。
