Research Abstract

宇宙には、既知の物質の何倍ものダークマター(重力作用以外では『見えない』物質)が存在している。しかし驚くべきことに、膨張宇宙が加速していること、またその説明として、ダークマターの2倍以上もの量の「ダークエネルギー(Dark Energy) 」と呼ばれる正体不明の場、真空のエネルギーが存在していることが明らかになってきた。本領域は、すばる望遠鏡の主焦点に超広視野カメラを製作・搭載して深宇宙の観測を行い、ダークエネルギーの性質解明を目指す
