Research Abstract

本研究は「ウイルス研究マトリックス」の視点から、DNAウイルスの中でもヘルペスウイルスを取り上げて研究を推進する。単純ヘルペスウイルス(HSV)はヘルペスウイルス科のプロトタイプとして最も分子的理解が進んでいるが、増殖、病原性発現機構ともに不明な点が数多く残されている。また、HSVは少なくとも74個の遺伝子を保有するが、半数以上の遺伝子機能については未だよくわかっていないのが現状である。本研究の目的は、ウイルスの増殖機構、病原性発現機構にこれらの遺伝子がどのような役割を果たしているのかを明らかにすることである。
