Outline of Annual Research Achievements

アルマ高解像度観測では,ダスト成長を促進するダスト濃集領域や惑星存在を示唆する構造の検出で進展があった。Herbig Fe型星HD142527に付随する円盤内では,ガス・ダスト比が方位角に沿って1桁近く変化しており,ダスト濃集領域ではより大きなサイズのダストが集積していることが明らかになった。同様のガス・ダスト分布の違いは,CR Cha の動径構造でも検出された。一方,円盤構造に関する研究では,TW Hyaの円盤中に,形成途上の惑星に付随する可能性がある小スケールのダスト高密度領域を初検出した。
次に,円盤の水の振る舞いのうち水氷に関しては,前年度に行ったSubaru/IRCSのL-band偏光分光観測機能を用いた HD142527原始惑星系円盤の空間分解観測について,結果の詳細なモデリングを進めた。この天体に関しては,氷の存在比が Pollackら(1994)によるダストモデルで説明できることが分かった。一方水蒸気に関しては,アルマによって得られたHerbig Ae型星HD163296に付随する原始惑星系円盤の水蒸気輝線フラックスの上限値とモデル計算との比較から,スノーラインの位置が20au以内にあるという制限を与えた。
最後に円盤の統計的性質に着目した研究では,牡牛座領域における中質量星に付随する円盤13個の近赤外線高分散分光観測の成果を発表した。進化段階初期の円盤では恒星風と磁気降着が見られた一方,進化後期段階の円盤では円盤風と磁気降着が見られたことから,円盤内のガス流構造が円盤の不透明度と密接な関係にあることが示唆された。また,せいめい望遠鏡の整備を進め,赤外線偏光撮像装置のクライオスタットの外形とオフナー・リレー光学系を設計・製作した。この設計に沿って偏光を分離し波長2バンドの検出器上に再結像するための部品調達を全て完了し,来年度以降の組み立て準備が整った。

Reason

以下の通り,全ての研究テーマで概ね予定通りの進捗が得られた。
まず円盤の高解像度画像の解析では,順調に研究成果を挙げる一方,並行してスパースモデリングを取り入れた電波干渉計の新しい画像作成法の開発にも取り組み始めた。この手法が確立されれば,これまでに比べてより不完全なデータからでも小スケールの構造を抽出できる可能性が広がり,既に取得されているデータの再解析を通じてより大きなサンプルに基づく統計的議論が可能になると期待される。
水に関しては,まず近赤外線分光観測で水氷の検出が可能な天体としては最も若い段階にあると考えられるHL Tauに対して,Subaru/IRCS-POLを用いた波長2.8 - 4.2μm偏光分光を行った。これと並行して,JWST による熱赤外(波長3μm以上に相当)円盤散乱光観測の検討や,SPICAを用いた波長44μmの氷フィーチャーの検出可能性を検討した。また,水蒸気に関してはガス化学モデルの整備を進めつつ,激しい降着により円盤が高温となりスノーラインの制約が与えられやすいFU Ori型星のアルマ観測を提案し,それが採択された。すでに取得したデータから水輝線フラックスの上限値が求められ,モデル計算から円盤性質に制限を与える解析を現在進めている。
惑星形成の環境依存性を議論する上で鍵を握る低金属量領域に関する研究についても,複数の論文出版の準備が整うなど,順調な進捗を見せている。具体的には,ASTE望遠鏡で取得された炭素原子微細構造線データに基づく分子雲内部への紫外線浸透に関する議論や,低金属環境下での高密度コアの質量分布関数をアルマで初めて取得した点が挙げられる。星団環境下での円盤存在の統計的議論を科学目標に据えた,せいめい望遠鏡の新装置についても,設計と部品調達を完了し,当初の計画通り来年度から装置の組み上げと試験観測の段階へと進む準備が整った。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

予定通りの進捗が得られていることを踏まえ,引き続き当初計画に沿って着実に研究を進めつつ,新展開の芽となる成果が得られた際には臨機応変に研究の力点をシフトする方策を取る。
円盤観測についてはこれまで同様,アルマの高解像観測を中心に研究を進めていく。これまでの方向性の継続に加え,新たな展開として,現在検討中の電波干渉計データの新しい画像作成手法の確立とその適用,及び,残骸円盤の統計的性質の解明に着手する。原始惑星系円盤の研究については理論的研究を主導している計画研究A01, A02との連携を強化するとともに,残骸円盤に関しては完成された系外惑星の研究を行っている計画研究A03, B03班との連携を強化する。残骸円盤については,アルマへの観測提案の準備も進める。
円盤内の水の振る舞いについても,水氷フィーチャーを捉えられるSubaru/IRCSのL-band偏光分光機能を,様々な進化段階の円盤や星周構造へと適用し,水が円盤へと持ち込まれる過程についての観測的情報を得る。また,アルマを用いた水蒸気放射の観測結果を円盤モデルと比較して,円盤スノーラインに関してこれまで以上に厳しい制約を課すことを目指す。
星団観測については多波長観測を継続し,惑星形成の環境依存性を議論する基礎を与える星形成過程の金属量依存性を明らかにする。また,せいめい望遠鏡新装置は令和3年度以降の科学観測開始を目指し,装置の組み上げと試験観測を進める。
このほか研究体制の面では,円盤の高解像度観測と銀河系外縁部の研究に携わる特任助教1名と研究員1名に加えて,残骸円盤に関わる研究を推進する研究員1名を加え,計3名とする。昨年度までと同様,それぞれの研究テーマでの成果獲得に加え,総括班が主導するラボローテーションを通じて,グループ内だけでなく領域全体の連携をはかる役割の一翼を担う。
