Research Abstract

本年度は、まず、昨年度までに行った4d5d遷移金属のスピンホール効果に関する追加実験を行い、名古屋大学の井上・紺谷理論グループと連携協力して、発現機構が内因性を支持すること、すなわち散乱の大きさが遷移金属単体のLS結合の大きさに比例しており、スピンホール効果に大きな役割を果たしていることを実験と理論の両面から検証し、この結果を論文に纏め現在Physical Review Bに出版中である。更に、外因性の散乱(特にskew散乱)についても、その大きさが4d5d遷移金属不純物のLS結合の大きさに比例していることに着目して実験を進め、CuにIr不純物を添加することにより2.1%の大きなスピンホール角を得ることに成功した。この結果をPhysical Review Letterに発表した。計画していた単結晶白金のスピンホール効果の実験については、研究実施期間中に大凡の素子作製の最適化は修了したものの、実験を完了するまでに至らなかった。これからの課題として実験を続けている。兵庫県立大の石川を分担者に加えて行う予定であった、気体の核スピンを用いたスピン注入については、昨年度に実験検証が完了したため、石川が分担者から離れたため、本年度は研究を継続しなかった。
