Research Abstract

代表者前川と分担者小山田は、スピン1/2有機三角格子反強磁性体EtMe_3Sb[Pd(dmit)_2]_2において量子スピン液体状態が実現し、1Kで新奇相転移が生じていることを発見したが、^<13>C-NMRが電子スピン状態の情報を正しく捕らえているかを確認するために分子内位置の異なる^<13>Cに対してNMR測定を行い、これを確認した。また相転移温度が低磁場では低温側へシフトすることを見いだした。さらに単結晶試料を用いた測定を開始した。
また、パイロクロア格子磁性体s=1/2gのCu_2(OH)_3Clについてこれまでの粉末試料に替えて単結晶を得てNMR実験を行い、中間相は低温相とは異なる長距離磁気秩序が生じ、中性子実験から提案されているRVB状態ではないことを明確にした。しかし中間相には常磁性相にも匹敵する大きな揺らぎも残存する特異な相であり、四面体構造のフラストレーションに微小な格子歪が存在することにより逐次相転移が起こり新奇な中間状態が現れることを明らかにした。
さらに、スピン1/2のXY型三角格子反強磁性体の初めてのモデル物質であるCeZn_3P_3の単結晶NMR測定から、量子効果による特異な非軸性磁気構造が実現していることを明らかにした。また5f電子系XY型反強磁性体UNi_4Bの緩和率T^<-1>_2の測定から、部分秩序相でスピンの非常に遅い異方的揺らぎが存在していることを発見した。
分担者太田は強磁場ESRによりマルチフェロ物質CuOのg値の異方性と反強磁性ギャップを初めて決定した。またs=3/2ハニカム格子反強磁性体Bi_3Mn_4O_<12>(NO_3)におけるDM相互作用の大きさと方向を決定した。分担者菊池は新規フラストレート磁性体を探索し、三本鎖磁性体Cu_3(OH)_4SO_4単結晶のNMRと比熱測定により、複雑な逐次相転移を見いだした。また五角形と三角形で構成される新規スピン格子物質Cu_5(XO_4)_2(OH)_4(X=As,P)を合成し磁気測定を行った。分担者松平は金属絶縁体転移を示すNd_2Ir_2O_7(T_<MI>=33K)の中性子散乱実験から、IrとNdモーメシトが異なる温度で各々all-in all-out構造に秩序化することを見いだした。パイロクロア格子において反強磁性相互作用により実現する数少ないスピン構造の実現例の発見である。
