Research Abstract	細胞内のタンパク質は,生体膜で仕切られた区画(オルガネラ)に集合して半自律的システムをつくり,複雑な細胞機能を分散管理している。細胞にはこうしたタンパク質群の移動や集合を実現する機能発現システムと,その機能を監視し正常に維持する秩序維持システムが存在する。本研究では,タンパク質の機能発現システムとしてミトコンドリアのタンパク質配送システムを,秩序維持システムとして小胞体の異常タンパク質処理システムをとりあげ,その全体像と作動機構を解明することをめざした。酵母ミトコンドリアのタンパク質の配送に関して,トランスロケータの機能を解析し,構造決定もめざした。酵母・植物小胞体の異常タンパク質処理について,BiPやPDIの役割を解明した。
