| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
最終年度にあたり、全体的な成果のとりまとめと、個別の論点を発展させるための研究会・ワークショップ開催の両方を行った。研究会等としては、書評を中心とした「ロシア帝国論・ソ連論」（2012年9月20日）、日本帝国の大陸における宗教工作というユニークなテーマを広範に論じた「戦時期日本の喇嘛教・回教工作」（同年12月1日）、清朝史研究の最新の成果を集めた「ユーラシア地域帝国としての清朝研究」（同年12月16日）、脱植民地化・冷戦に関わる諸問題を中国人研究者たちと議論するReconsidering Empires and De-Colonization（同年12月21日、南京）などを開いた。また、領域研究の総括シンポジウム（2013年1月26日）で、帝国と近代化、国民帝国と空間学知、中央／大国と周縁／小国の関係（格差と統合の原理および非対称な相互作用）、植民地・半植民地における国家意識・民族意識形成、脱植民地化などに関して、当計画研究が明らかにしたことの概要を報告した。そのほか個々のメンバーが、世界経済史会議をはじめとする国内外の諸学会で成果発表を行った。
成果出版としては、2011年度までのワークショップ等で発表した論文を集めた報告集Empire and After: Essays in Comparative Imperial and Decolonization Studiesを刊行した。また、2012年1月に開催した国際シンポジウムComparing Modern Empires: Imperial Rule and Decolonization in the Changing World Orderの報告集、および最終成果としての「ユーラシア比較地域大国論」シリーズ（ミネルヴァ書房）第4巻『ユーラシア近代帝国と現代世界』を編集中で、いずれも2013年度に刊行予定である。
