Research Abstract

量子力学の原理に基づいた情報科学の探求により、物理系の量子性の理解が大いに深まり、量子コンピューティングや量子暗号などの新しい情報処理の可能性が示され、計測や量子論そのものの研究とあいまって、広く量子情報処理の分野として急速に研究が進んでいる。現在の情報技術における光の役割と同様に、量子情報技術において光に期待される役割は大きく、光の非古典的状態発生及び非局所性を示すエンタングルメント光発生はもとより、その究極的な制御と測定技術の開拓が求められている。特に量子情報通信において量子状態を離れた地点に送ることは基本的な技術である。それと同時に、現実的な光源や制御技術は必然的に不完全であり、それらを用いた場合の量子情報通信を考えることは非常に重要である。
昨年度(平成21年度)には半導体量子ドットやダイヤモンドのカラーセンター等により発生される不完全な単一光子に有用な長距離量子暗号方式を提案することが出来きたが、今期(平成22年度)はこの普及のために学会発表を行った。また、より長距離の通信を実現するためには量子メモリや量子非破壊測定等を駆使した量子リピーターの実現が重要となる。昨年度に提案を行ったコヒーレント光と共振器結合原子系あるいは半導体量子ドット系との相互作用を用いた量子リピーターの研究をさらに進めた方法を検討し、現在論文執筆中である。また、共振器結合系への実験的アプローチとしてマイクロトロイド共振器を利用した光の遅延を観測することに成功した。これも論文準備中である。
