Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Innovative Areas (Research in a proposed research area)
Atmospheric oxidation of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and subsequent reactions can produce low-volatility species which contribute to secondary organic aerosols (SOAs). In this study, reaction probabilities for elementary steps were determined and new chemical mechanisms of SOA formation were proposed based on gas- and aerosol-phase analysis of reaction products.
