Research Abstract

We determined the BVOC emission characteristics and fluxes from the major forest plant species in Japan by laboratory and field measurements. Density map of annual BVOC emissions was created in Kinki district. Source-receptor relationships (SRR) between premature mortality and PM_<2.5> emissions in East and Southeast Asia were quantified by numerical simulations using meteorological and chemical transport models with emission inventories. Induced health impacts of BC or OC exposures by the final demand of each country was determined in combination with the Asian international I-O tables and the damage factors in the Asian countries determined by the SRR. Country contribution to premature mortality associated with transboundary pollution in Japan was estimated by input-output analysis on the basis of consumption.
