Research Abstract

平成23(2011)年度は、初年度から導入・整備している設備と研究環境を基盤として、バルクナノメタルの材料設計に通じる幅広い実験研究を行った。その詳細は、以下に示すとおりである。中でも、純チタンおよびマグネシウム合金という六方晶金属において、ナノ組織の制御により強度と延性を両立させた材料が得られた成果は、特筆すべきものである。バルクナノメタルの3DAPによるナノ解析や、STEMを用いた粒界と転位の相互作用の解明など、バルクナノメタルの変形特性の起源を解明するために必要な最先端解析技術も整備された。
・パルスレーザーによって電界蒸発を誘起するレーザー補助アトムプローブにより、HPT加工を施したオーステナイト系ステンレス鋼におけるナノ結晶組織中の元素分布を明らかにした。・
・ナノ析出制御を施したMg-2.4Zn-0.1Ag-0.1Ca-0.1Zr(at.%)(ZKQX)合金薄板を開発し、優れた冷間加工性が得られることを明らかにした。
・[001](210)Σ5対称傾角粒界を有するMo双結晶に[001]圧縮を施し、粒界近傍転位の三次元観察を世界ではじめて行った。
・α-Mn鋼に対してHPT法による巨大ひずみ加工を施し、ナノ組織を形成するとともに、その相変態特性を明らかにした。合金元素による相間の自由エネルギー差を調整することによって、圧力誘起相変態を利用した高強度化の可能性が見いだされた。
・最密六方(HCP)構造を有する純チタンにARB加工と熱処理を施し、平均結晶粒径が1.1μmの超微細粒材から21μmの粗大粒材を作製して引張試験を行った結果、粗大粒チタンで主に活動していたすべり系が柱面すべりであったのに対して、超微細粒チタンでは柱面すべりに加えて錐面すべりも活動していることが明らかとなった。これにより、超微細粒チタンでは、引張変形中の加工硬化率が上昇し、結果として、粗大粒材よりも強度が高いにも関わらず、粗大粒と同等の均一伸びを示した。
・Fe-24Ni-0.3C合金に対してARB法による巨大ひずみ加工を施し、オーステナイト相をナノ組織化した上でそのマルテンサイト変態挙動を調べた。母相オーステナイト粒の微細化に伴って,マルテンサイトのバリアント選択則が変化することが明らかとなった。

Reason

得られた結果を学術雑誌論文61編(昨年度32編)、国際会議論文3編(昨年度21編)、著書4件(昨年度0件)などとして公開するなど、当初期待していた以上に充実した成果を得た。また、6件の受賞が、若手研究者あるいは各研究室の大学院生に対して与えられている。成果の中には班内の異なる研究室間で行われたものや、本新学術領域プロジェクト内の他班に属する研究室との共同研究成果によるものが数多く、新学術領域研究が目指すべき連携とネットワークが、着実に形成されつつある。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

次年度以降も、班内の連携をさらに強化し、各研究室で得られた興味深い成果を、各々が有する特徴的なナノ解析手法を用いてさらに深く解析する。また、他班、特に計算材料科学班との連携を強化し、シミュレーション手法により援用されたバルクナノメタルの最適材料設計概念の構築を目指す。さらに、力学特性を中心とした特性と材料組織・構造の関連性を追求し、強度と延性を両立させたバルクナノメタル実現のための基礎原理構築に向け努力する。
