| Research Abstract |
今年度は、前半に現地調査を行い、後半では成果発表とテキストの執筆を行った。現地調査は南イランのネリッツオフィオライトを金沢大学荒井章司教授と共に４月に実施した。その結果、橄欖岩体が比較的均質なハルツバーガイト(一部ダナイト）を基本とする岩体であることが明らかとなった。また ８月にはトルコのアンカラメランジュの調査を行った。これは現地トルコ地質調査所の協力の下で実施され、イランオフィオライトとの関連性を確認し た。１月にはイランアルボルツ山脈チャハマックの地質について、筑波大学で開催された国際ワークショップで予察的結果を発表した。２月にはイランテヘランで開催された「第３２回イランおよび第１回国際地質会議」で、本プロジェクトの研究成果を発表した。またこれとは別に、学生・院生向けのテキストの分担執筆（西アジアの地質）を行った。

Reason
現在までのところ、地質学研究の対象地域をほとんどイランに限ってきており、本プロジェクトが西アジアを対象とするものであることから「幾分狭い範囲の対象地域ではないか」との疑義もあろう。しかしながら、少なくとも西アジア北半分を占める山岳地域、ザグロス山脈およびアルボルツ山脈は西アジア文明の自然環境論を考察する上で代表的な地形地質である。したがって、現時点まで進めてきたイランに関する研究は、西アジアの文明構築を考察するうえで、より核心的な役割を果たすといえよう。すなわち、現時点での本プロジェクトの達成度は順調といえる。

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
我々が推進している「考古学と地質学の協同」について、ここ数年イラン地質調査所研究者の中で注目を集めるようになってきた。従来イラン地質調査所とイラン考古学研究センターとの学術交流・共同研究は希薄と聞いている。本プロジェクトで行っている日本の考古学地質学合同チームの成果は大変ユニークなものであり、早い機会に公表すべきと考えている。また一方で我々が推進している研究方法は、 まだイランの限られた地域のみであることから、今後とも研究例を増やす努力も必要であろう。したがって今後もこれまで同様、主にイラン国内の「考古学と地質学の協同」を強力に推進していく所存である。
