Outline of Annual Research Achievements

磁気的スピン変換では、新しいスピン変換現象の探索、非線形スピン変換手法の開拓、電圧を用いた磁化状態制御の3課題に焦点を当て研究を進めている。
新奇スピン変換に関しては、トポロジカルな性質を有する反強磁性体に従来とは質的に異なる新奇な磁気スピンホール効果が発現することを見出した。また、反強磁壁のダイナミクスが強磁性体中の磁壁のダイナミクスに似ていることも実験と数値計算の両面から突き止めた。これらの成果について現在論文にまとめているところである。
非線形的なスピン変換手法を実現するため、スピンホール効果とスピン注入実験を行っている。スピンホール効果実験のために複雑な磁気構造や電子物性をもつ新物質の2次元三角格子反強磁性体と高温超伝導体Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+xに着目した。反強磁性体では系を微細化することで、反強磁性転移に伴う抵抗の減少が大きくなることを見出した。また高温超伝導体の薄膜化にも成功しており、これらの物質を用いた非線形スピン変換を最終年度に達成する。一方で、Fe/MgOトンネル接合とSi伝導チャンネルを有する面内スピンバルブ素子を用いたスピン伝導測定においてもスピン蓄積信号が非線形な応答を示すこと、またこの現象の起源が、トンネル接合を介したスピン偏極電流の透過率のバイアス電圧依存性に起因していることを明らかにした。この成果はA02班の班間連携研究であり、現在論文に纏めているところである。
電界による磁気的変換については、電界印加下で微細CoFeB/MgO磁気トンネル接合中のスピン波共鳴を観測することで、共鳴磁界の電界変調は磁気異方性と交換スティッフネス定数の両方の変調によることを明らかにした。スピントロニクス材料の幅を広げるべく、磁性元素をドープしたトポロジカル絶縁体(Cr,Sb)2Te3を作製し、この材料系における最高のキュリー温度250 Kを観測した。

Reason

金属絶縁体界面に形成されるラシュバ界面を利用したスピン流・電流変換の機構解明をほぼ終えたところである。第1原理計算と物質依存性の実験との比較から、界面近傍で変化する電荷密度の上昇が大きく寄与していることを明らかにした。この結果の論文発表を完了したところである。その他、トポロジカル反強磁性体を用いたスピン変換の実験研究は、順調に進んでおり、最終年度への下地が整ったところである。
一昨年までに、複雑な磁気構造をもつ系としてスピングラスに着目し、スピン流が磁気揺らぎを測定する敏感なプローブになることを見出した。昨年度は新しい非線形スピン変換の舞台として、2次元三角格子反強磁性体と高温超伝導体を選択した。これら物質を用いてナノスピン変換を実現するためには、薄膜にする必要があったが、それらの薄膜化にも成功し、論文も執筆した。最終年度に向けて、新しい非線形スピン変換を開拓する準備が整った。
電気-磁気相互変換に使われている代表的な素子である磁気トンネル接合の電極として反強磁性体の応用を目指し材料の製作を進めている。混晶組成を制御することによる磁性元素をドープしたトポロジカル絶縁体の電気伝導度の制御を進めている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

推進最終年度は、新物質のスピン変換現象に焦点を当て、研究を進める。磁気スピンホール効果による電場とスピン蓄積との関係を実験的に明らかにして、理論予測との整合性を確認する。これより最終年度の成果の一つとする。非線形スピン変換に関しては、2次元三角格子反強磁性体と高温超伝導体をスピン輸送素子に取り込み、それぞれの転移温度近傍、それ以下での非線形性を観測する。特に高温超伝導体に関しては、スピン揺らぎが発現機構になっているという理論的な予測もあるため、超伝導転移温度以上でも精密にスピンホール効果を測定する。これにより、スピン揺らぎ機構の実証行い、さらなる転移温度上昇のメカニズムを追求する。非線形スピン注入実験に関しては、反強磁性体を磁気トンネル接合の電極として利用した場合の素子特性の評価を行い、その優位性を明らかにする。さらに磁気的秩序の発現がトポロジカル絶縁体の表面状態及びバルク状態に与える影響を輸送測定、角度分解光電子分光法により明らかにする。
