| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
本研究では、機械運動・熱・波動・音・電気とのスピン変換及び相互作用現象を開拓する。これにより、スピン変換の学理構築を推進するとともに、スピンを利用した新たなエネルギー変換科学技術の体系を創出する。平成30年度の主な成果は以下の通りである。
(1) 反強磁性相転移を利用したスピン流ON/OFF変換機能を実現：反強磁性体の相転移を利用して、スピン流の流れやすさを変換できる機能を実現した。Cr2O3は、反強磁性相転移の前後でスピン流に対する導体から絶縁体に変わることを見いだし、スピン流の流れやすさを500%変化させることに成功した (Nature Materials誌に掲載)。
(2) 核スピンに由来したマイクロ波-スピン流変換現象を発見：原子核の自転運動である核スピンを利用し、マイクロ波照射により核スピンの集団歳差運動を誘起することでスピン流を生成することに成功した。電子のスピン自由度に依存していた従来のスピン変換現象に対して、核スピンが利用可能であることを実証した (Nature Physics誌に掲載)。
(3) 渦糸液体状態に起因した環境ノイズ-電力変換現象を発見：磁気渦糸液体状態の第二種超伝導体MoGeとフェリ磁性体の接合素子は、環境の電磁ノイズを定常的な起電力に変換できることを発見した。磁場依存性、温度依存性、環境変化に対する応答を詳細に検証し、本現象が渦糸の空間不均一性に起因することを突き止めた (Nature Communications誌に掲載)。
(4)バーネット磁場を用いた角運動量の精密測定法を開発：これまで測定が困難だった磁石内部の角運動量を、磁石の剛体回転との相互作用を利用して測定する手法および装置を開発し、実際にフェリ磁性体の角運動量補償点を正確に測定することに成功した (Applied Physics Letters誌に掲載)。
