| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
スーパーカミオカンデ実験のガドリニウム(Gd)導入計画(SK-Gd)に向け、最重要な目標であった超高純度硫酸ガドリニウム原料の大量生産に向けた1.5トンでの製造でも不純物U、Th、Ra混入が我々の要求0.3mBq/(試料kg)以下であることを確認した。原料中の不純物Ra、Rnの測定は、Ra吸着樹脂でRa濃縮しゲルマニウム検出器で測定することに成功し、結果を論文出版した。さらに200トン装置を使い、原料を純水に導入し、陽イオン交換樹脂を使用して循環試験を行った。そして水の透過率の向上を確認し、本番のSK-Gd検出器の純化装置へ導入することを決定した。また、Gd水溶液中のRn/Ra測定では、mBq/（溶液m^3）精度の測定に成功した。SK-Gd計画では天然Gdの熱中性子捕獲ガンマ線を利用するが、我々は天然Gd、濃縮Gd155、157の中性子捕獲反応のガンマ線エネルギーの分布をJPARC熱中性子ビームと精密Ge検出器を用い高統計で測定した。その測定と我々の開発したGdガンマ線生成モデル(ANNRI-Gdモデル)を論文出版した。そのANNRI-GdモデルはSK-Gd実験のみならず、Gdを使った世界のニュートリノ検出器や暗黒物質実験で使われている。理論班は、中里・鈴木の共同研究として超新星爆発の原始中性子星冷却期に放射されるニュートリノの時間変動について、現象論的なモデルを用いた数値計算によって、系統的な状態方程式依存性を調べた。その結果、ニュートリノ放射の時間スケールは、主に状態方程式の有効質量と、後に残される中性子星半径によって決まることが分かった。理論・実験班の共同研究として、最新の殻模型に基づいて超新星ニュートリノの酸素荷電カレント反応によるエネルギー分布と事象数評価を行い出版した。また、超新星ニュートリノの酸素炭素中性カレント反応のガンマ線事象の評価の論文もまとめている。
