Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は, 神岡地下実験施設で稼働してるSuper-Kamiokade, KamLAND, XMASSで協力して, 近傍超新星爆発へそなえた体制を構築することにある. そのために以下の４項目の研究を進めている.
前兆ニュートリノ: KamLANDの超新星爆発前の前兆ニュートリノが検出可能であること示した. 本年度は前兆ニュートリノを用いた超新星アラームを神岡実験施設内に留まらず, 海外の他のグループへの情報提供を開始した.
近傍超新星爆発へ備えたDAQ改良: 近傍超新星爆発へ向けた対策として, Super-KamiokandeとKamLANDでは光電子増倍管のhit情報を記録するシステムを開発として実装した. 今後, いつ近傍超新星爆発が発生しても最小限の情報を得ることが可能となる. また, hit情報を超えて, 間引いて光電子増倍管のチャージや波形などを記録するためのロジック開発を進めている. 間引き記録そのものが上手くいくことの実証を終え, 現在はオンボードでの近傍超新星爆発判定のパラメータの最適化中である. XMASS実験においても, 近傍超新星爆発のような超高頻度イベントに耐えられるトリガーシステムの準備を進めている. 現在は, トリガーシステムのファームウェアを開発中である.
理論研究: 電子捕獲型超新星での前兆ニュートリノを調べて. また, 超新星爆発直前における大質量星の中心部分における進化と前兆ニュートリノの時間進化との関連について調べた論文を作成中である.
超新星ニュートリノ解析: Super-KamiokandeとKamLANDの共同解析における電子ニュートリノの平均エネルギー決定精度に関して, プレリミナリーな結果を得た. この結果は, 共同解析において超新星元素合成の詳細を解明できる可能性を示している.
また, A01と共同でKamLANDの低バックグランド化, 及び方向感度実現のための研究を開始した.

Reason

交付申請書に示した研究実施計画に沿った研究が進められる. 本研究については, 論文発表や天文学会での企画シンポジウムを通して注目も受けつつあり, 順調に進展しているといえる. さらに, 一部では当初の予定を超えた重力波グループとの共同研究の話が進んでいる.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

当初の予定通り研究を進める. また, 国際活動支援班と連携して海外の重力波グループとの連携を深め, 重力波-ニュートリノ同時解析へ向けた準備を進める.
