| Research Abstract |
計算科学と脳、市場を典型とする複雑システム(complex system)の数理を結びつけることを検討した。パラダイムの設定が具体的問題を規定するので、やや迂遠ではあるが前者に力を注いだ。その結果枠組みとしては公理的集合論に基づく「形式的な数学と科学」を想定するのが妥当であるとの見解にいたった。現在すでに解析学の分野ではそのようなものとして超準解析とくに超準確率論が盛んに研究されている。またMilnerの計算システムの理論(CCS)とBarwiseによる(自然言語の分野での)「状況意味論」しいう独立に進んできた理論が∈に関し無限下降列を許す集合論で見事に基礎付けられたのを契機として、情報と言語の分野も(数学と同様に)集合論上に築かれ得るという確信が生まれて来ている。
市場の均衡理論が微分学上に築かれ(静力学の類似)、力学系的な神経回路網が盛んに研究されているように力学系は複雑システムの現象画を表す大きな要素である。超準解析であらわれた無限小、超有限という概念は有限と無限、離散と連続の接点にあり、大きな有限系を扱う自然な枠組みを与えてくれる。
