Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to make the relationships clear that was made between Kievan Russia and the Outer World of Russia. As a basic Study for this study, I have researched on the Genealogy of Russian Princes. The outcome of it is represented in my book, "The Genealogical Tables of Russian History". Through my study on the Genealogy of Russian Princes, the relationships between Kievan Russia and the Outer World of Russia can be said as follows. (1) The Russian Princes in the Kievan period were keeping strong relationships through marriages not only with European Royal Families but also with ones of other states, even ones of the Eastern States. (2) Kievan Russia was actually not a united state but a state consisting of many principalities, so it is necessary to study each of those principalities for examination on the Kievan relationship to Outer World. (3) It is possible to point out that Lithuania being included in the Western World had a strong relationship to Russia, and especially since the end of Kievan period it deeply connected with the West Russian Principalities as they were in the same family.
