Research Abstract |
The purpose of this study is breeding of interspecific hybrid and intergenetic hybrid in Amaryllidaceae. 1. The method for regulating the flowering time of parent plants to use crossing was investigated. In Crinum-X powcllii cv. Album, when a plant with inflorescence at carpel formation stage was exposed to chilling at 15/12゚C (day/night) for 30 days or 5 ゚C for 45 days, they flowered normary. In Zcphyranthcs candids, the initiation and development of the flower buds was inhibited by low temperature in winter season. Therefore, the culture at temperature of 23゚C constant showed flowering in all year round. 2. The pollen of Amaryllidaceae plants stored at a temperaturc of -18 ゚C and a relative humidity of 58.9 % kept high germination ability, even after the storage of 6 months. 3. The cross combination of 21 interspecific crossing and 63 intergenetic crossings was experimented. In cross combination of the 5 interspecific crossing and the 10 intergenetic crossing, the germination of setted seed was recognized. The plants derived from cross combination of the Nerine filamentosa X Anaryllis belladonna. Cyrtanthus mackenii X Nerinc bowdenii and Cyrtanthus mackenii X Ncrine sarniensis shown the intersediat character of the mother parent and the pollen parent in leaf shape. 4. when the seeds harvested in 4 cross combination, of interspecific crossings in Lycoris and I cross combination of intergenetic crossing in Chyrtnthus mackcnii X Clivia miniata were sown on verniculate, not all of then germinated. The germination, however, was possible by the ovule culture after 20 - 30 days of pollination with 1/2 MS medium.
