| Research Abstract |
実験動物委員会は我国の癌研究に使用される実験動物の質的向上をめざし実験用系統の維持と開発、特性検査と品質管理、高品質の実験動物株の分与、胚および配偶子の凍結保存、DNAレベルでの遺伝子マッピング、系統情報の提供など実験動物および動物実験に関する基盤の整備およびサ-ビス的活動を通じて癌研究の推進に寄与することを目的としている。本年度は次のような活動を行なった。(1)実験動物の基準系統の育成、維持、供給。(a)近交系マウス:5人の分担者が各種の近交系マウスを維持し癌研究者に株を分与した。その数は68施設120系統938匹に達した。(b)近交系ラット:2人の分担者が各種の近交系ラットを維持し11施設6系統1264匹を分与した。(c)近交系モルモット・ハムスタ-:14系統のモルモットを維持し、12系統を3施設に分与した。またこれらの系統の標識遺伝子の設定を進めている。ハムスタ-近交系についても2施設に分与を行なった。以上のマウス・ラット・ハムスタ-等の系統については遺伝学的および微生物学的な品質の管理を行なっている。(2)コンジェニック、リコンビナント・インブレッド(RI)および突然変異マウス系統の育成、維持、供給:(a)コンジェニック系マウス26系を維持し39施設に68系494匹を分与した。(b)RI系14系を2施設に分与した。(3)品質管理と技術の開発:(a)遺伝的検査:マウス19座位、ラット19座位を対象に56施設320系統704匹の検査を行なった。(b)微生物的検査:11感染因子の検査法を確立し16施設から60件1232検体の依頼を受けた。(4)新しいRI系統の開発、育成:腫瘍高発系Aと低発系SM/Jとの間で28系のRI系統の育成を進めており、すでにF20を越え標識遺伝子座の分析をはじめた。(5)胚および配偶子の凍結保存:本年度凍結された胚は199、000匹に達した。(6)DNAによるマウス遺伝子マッピングのためPCRプロ-ブの開発を行なった。(7)実験動物系統情報の配布を行なった。
