Research Abstract	本研究の主な目的は、重点領域研究「短寿命核ビームの科学」の評価、調整、普及にある。各研究班の研究状況を調査・評価し、研究会等を開催してその円滑な進展を促進することを重視して、下記のような活動を行なった。 (1)総括班会議平成7年10月と平成8年1月に開催し、研究状況の評価・調整をはかるとともに、これでの研究成果をまとめた。また、来年度の研究目標について検討した。 (2)研究会ア)「短寿命核ビームの科学′95」を平成8年1月6-10日の4日間、東大原子核研究所において、以下の主題で開催した:(i)総括班活動報告-研究状況・成果報告と総括一、(ii)極端状況下の原子核の構造と相互作用、(iii)元素の起源と宇宙の進化、(iv)短寿命核ビーム関連技術、(v)短寿命核ビームによる物質科学の研究。出席者は約200名であった。研究会報告を発行予定である。イ)天体核物理学に関するシンポジウムを平成8年1月に開催した。出席者は講師、学生等約50名であった。成果報告書を準備中である。ウ)原子核物理学(中性子過剰核等の構造)に関するワークショップを平成8年2月に開催。 (3)公開シンポジウム「原子核が開く極限の世界'95」と題するシンポジウムを、東京(野口英世記念会館)で平成7年2月に開催した。これは、過去2年間、同時期に開催し好評を得たものの継続で、本年度も、本重点領域研究に密接に関わる3つのテーマを原子核物理、宇宙物理、物質科学から選び、講演と自由討論を行った。出席者は専門家、一般市民、高校生、大学生らで約200名であった。 (4)ニュースレターの発行本重点領域研究の研究課題や進展状況等の周知をはかるため、3度にわたり発行した。
