Research Abstract |
In 1995, we visited Turkey at the beginning of July and made the field research in following 2 regions : Marmara sea and Eagean sea coasts (Bursa-Bergama-Kutahya, July 6-10) and west part of the central Anatolia (Konya-Beysehir-Akseki, July 13-17). We mainly intended to collect the materials for chemical analysis this time and could successfully get more than 50 kinds of the medicinal plants including Ballota sp., Marrubium sp., Nepeta., Origanum sp., Phlomis sp., Prunella sp., Salvia sp., Sideritis sp., Stachys sp. (Labiatae), Alkanna sp. (Boraginaceae), Plantago sp. (Plantaginaceae), Daphne sp. (Thymelaeaceae), Urtica sp. (Urticaceae), and others. The phytochemical analysis of these materials have already started. We also collected more than 500 specimens for the herbalium study, and the taxonomic study for indentification has been conducted both in Japan and Turky. The results of our field research of these materials have successively been published as a series of "Traditional Medicine in Turkey". Phytochemical analysis of each materials has also been reported one after another.
