Research Abstract |
"Effect of, near-infrared light irradiation to the adjacent area of stellate ganglion" on lingual blood flow was investigated in thirteen volunteer of adult males aged 20 to 27. Lingual blood flow (LBF) rapidly increased and reached maximum immediately after irradiation, then tended to decrease subsequently, although significant increases were observed for 60 minutes after stimulation. There was no essential differences in increa-sing effect of LBF,compared with those in stellate ganglion block. Lingual blood flow were known to decreased in some cases of glossodynia. The effect of "near-infrared eight irradiation therapy" were tested in twelve patients diagnosed as glossodynia. The effect were ; good in three cases, better in a case, no effect in a case, in the group mainly treated by this method. At present, the combination of "Pain blocker ^<<encircledR>>" with this method are under investigation.
