Research Abstract	複雑現象の数理的理解を深め現象の数理学的構造を抜き出すことにより、実験数学の方法を確立することを目的に研究集会を行なった。取り扱かった複雑現象は,脳神経系,特に,海馬の錐体細胞の動的挙動,運動系の動的制御であり,さらに,雲の形成,経済現象,細胞分化,タンパクの機能発現部位とダイナミクス等多岐にわたった. これらを研究する方法としては、カオス結合系,種々のダイナミクスを生み出すニューラルネット,種々のプログラムが動的に相互作用するプログラム生態系,非線形微分方程式論,確率過程とカオス力学系を結びつける新しい確率論,変分法,論理とカテゴリー論,論理と力学系の変換に関する一般論等が挙げられた. 複雑現象に共通する数理的構造として,高次元多様体の構造,種々の論理に関係する代数構造,さらには,特別な関数空間の構造等がうきぼりにされ,今後の詳しい構造研究が必要であることが認識された. さらに,内部観測の重要性が指摘された.観測者が環境と不可避的に相互作用するために,観測者と環境が一体となった系の研究が複雑系の数学の重要な研究課題になるとの共通認識が得られた.
