Research Abstract |
In the last few years, several articles have been devoted to the study of East Asia's rapid growth. The articles conclude that rapid growth in each economy was primarily due to superior accumulation of human capital, better allocation of resources, some selective interventions and technological progress, etc. However, there is no single "East Asian model" of development. It may well be possible to model these, and we are sure that careful, applied study of the role of government, the industrial policy, the sectoral transfer, the improvement of infrastructure and technological progress in NIEs could make a real contribuion to our understanding of the sources of growth and to the disign of policy. First of all, in order to establish the New Growth Model, we have attempted to use the Endogenous Growth Model. But we know that the Endogenous Growth Model has taken a lot of defects and the model essentially coincided with the Neo-classical Growth Theory. For reasons mentioned above, we have to analyze the East Asia's rapid growth by the Evolutionary Growth Model which is very useful.
