Research Abstract

Japanese investigator, Dr. Sugiyama carried out a epizootiologicstudy of wild rodents at Beijing and Xian city. A total of 100 rodents were captured from the two regions and were examined for their antibody and antigen distribution.
Chinese investigator, Dr. Li, stayed at Japanese research institution for examining genetic comparison among Chinese hantaviruses obtained from above materials. He examined partial nucleotide sequence of two Chinese isolates and showed the higher relationship to Korean isolates than to Japanese one.
Finish investigator, Dr. Vaheri, visited at Japanese investigator's institutions for information exchange regarding the epidemiologicand epizootiologicsituations of hantavirus infection in northern part of Europe.
Head investigator (Dr. Arikawa) and Japanese investigator (Dr. Morimatsu) visited at Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for information exchange regarding the prevalence of hantavirus infection over the world with American investigator Dr. Peters.
… More Head investigator, Dr. Arikawa and Japanese investigator, Dr. Takashima, visited institutions in Austria and Slovakia to obtain information about epidemiologicsituation of hantavirus infection in Eastern Europe.
Japanese investigators, Drs. Kariwa and Morimatsu visited Glasgow university to obtain technical information regarding the genetic reassortant virus and reverse genetic.
Japanese head investigator, Dr. Arikawa and investigators, Drs. Takashima, Kariwa, Morimatsu visited Korean investigator, Dr. Lee at Asan Life Science Institute at Seoul Korea for information exchange regarding the comparison of variabilities of Japanese and Korean isolates.
Chinese investigator, Dr. Wang stayed at head investigator's institute (Hokkaido University School of Medicine) for 6 months and accomplished antigenic and genetic comparison among 50 isolates.
Chinese investigator, Dr. Chen, visited institutions of Japanese investigators at Sapporo and Tokyo information exchange about relation between ecology of wild rodents and prevalence of hantavirus infection. Less
