Research Abstract

本研究は生体の高次機能の積極的活用に基づく新しい工学技術を創造することを目的としている。特にその中で本年度は脳システムの機能を取り入れた工学技術を、本学とフロリダアトランティック大学の協力により、相補的に研究を発展させることを試み、以下の調査、研究を行った。
1.脳の工学的機能の分析、評価
基礎医学・生物研究者、工学研究者が協力して脳の多様な機能として、知覚認識、学習制御、協調制御、統合制御の分析、評価を行った。またこれらの脳機能を応用したパターン認識システムの基本モデルを構築した。これを用い、ビデオ撮影した車両正面画像からの車種識別、溶接の際に生じる欠陥の種類と大きさの識別、肺腫瘍病変識別への応用を試みた。またニューラルネットワークがどのような特徴抽出を行っているかをアロペックス法を用いて解析した。
2.生体機能の計測
生体機能の工学的特性を把握するため、申請両大学で保有する設備、機器と新しく開発したシステムを組み合わせて下記に示す生体機能の測定を行った。
a.脳信号源の特性測定: 脳電図、脳磁図からそれを生じる脳内信号源の位置と方向を計測にニューラルネットワークを用い、リアルタイムで信号源の動きを追跡した。
b.生体多自由度運動計測: ニューラルネットワークを用い非接触で運動計測を行った。
3.生体神経系ダイナミクス処理の調査研究を行い、神経回路モデルを構築すると共に、その工学的応用として、多自由度を持つロボット、各種電気-機械運動系のためのダイナミクス学習制御、協調制御へ適用することを試みた。
4.両大学でシンポジウムを開催し、調査研究結果の報告、討議、意見交換を行った。また本年度の成果を踏まえ、次年度の調査計画の詳細を打ち合せ、検討した。
