Research Abstract |
The characteristic of the fuel as a candidate was examined by the use of actual compression ignition engine, before the fuel composition was examined. The fuel as a candidate is Dimethyl-Ether(DME). DME burns in the engine with soot free emission and low hydrocarbon concentration , however NOx were relatively high. DME as a fuel shows low auto ignition temperature. Using the characteristics of DME, it mixed with propane. It was confirmed that again, the blending fuel had transparently and been stabilized, It was confirmed that the auto ignition temperature rose, when propane is blended. Next, the technique which added the ozone in the air for the auto ignition time control was examined. The lowering of the auto ignition temperature can expect it with the increase in the burning rate, because the ozone in the air decomposes the part of the fuel with fuel and that it mixes it. The increase in the about 10% of burning velocity when the ozone concentration was at 10000ppm. The engine experiment was conducted and confirmed the effect of ozone on the changes in the pattern of rate of heat release curve.
