| Research Abstract |
本年度の主だった研究成果は以下の様に分類される。(1)粉体振動層における熱力学的定式化とその有効性の例証、(2)粉体流動層において(1)の考え方の有効性の例証、(3)交通流、一次元流動層における普遍的相分離の特性の発見と融合ソリトン解の発見、(4)擬一次流動層におけるf^<-4/3>スペクトルの確証と理論的、数値の研究。一見(2)〜(4)は研究課題名と合致していない様に見えるが、極く最近になって(2)で用いたモデルを素直に高次元に拡張したモデルと振動層のモデルが非常に近いことが明らかになりつつあり、研究課題に沿う形で稔り多い成果があったと言うべきである。このことの裏側には未発表ではあるが振動層のシミュレーションコードの開発とその成功という来年度に繋る成果もあり、振動層のみならず、粉体流の解析の普遍性という側面が急速に明らかになりつつある。
各論の成果を詳しく述べるスペースはないが、(1)(2)なエネルギー流入と散逸のバランス下で実現する定常状態においてどのような熱学的が可能かという点に興味深く示唆を与えており、海外の一般誌でも広く紹介され注目を集めている。また(3)(4)は従来個別モデルの解析に留まっていた個々の研究を統轄し、徹底的にかつ系統的に研究を進め交通渋滞等のメカニズムを明らかにすると共に1/fノイズのメカニズムもはっきりさせた。研究成果は最も権威ある雑誌で出版されると共に、「パリティ」の様な大衆誌に解説を依頼される様に注目を集めている。同時に粉体関係の2冊の専門的工学書の執筆も行った。
