Research Abstract

今年度は昨年度から開始された300m干渉計の組立を続行して、リサイクルなしでの干渉計の全システムが完成し試運転を開始した。具体的な成果と進行状況は、
1. 前年度組み上げた1本腕の300m共振器をアラインメント制御することにより、目標の0.1マイクロラジアン以下の姿勢制御が達成され、共振器の安定な動作が実現された。
2. 数日間安定に動作しつづける共振器を用いて、基線長の絶対測定を行い、地下水圧の変化による約20ミクロンの地殻の伸縮を1ミクロンの精度で観測した。
3. もう1本の共振器とビームスプリッターを設置して、300m長のファブリペロー共振器を腕に持つマイケルソン干渉計を完成させ、試験用レーザーによる干渉計の動作確認に成功した。その後、安定動作を目指して干渉計各部の整備を行った。
4. モードクリーナーと10Wレーザーを結合して変調透過光の雑音確認や周波数安定化実験を行い、目標の安定度を得た。また、干渉計との結合後の全体の安定化シークエンスを検討した。
5. 数mmから1cm程度の広い光線に対して30ppm以下の損失という超高性能ミラーの開発に成功し、これを用いた20m干渉計によるリサイクリング実験に成功し、ゲインが10以上得られることを初めて明らかにした。
6. 光源部と干渉計の結合作業が終了して干渉計の全システムが組み上がり、試運転を開始した。
7. 高速データ取得部を整備すると共に、重力波波形の理論研究グループと協力してデータ解析に関する準備研究を開始した。
次年度は干渉計の整備・改良ののち、夏に連続運転による観測を行い、その後、リサイクリング導入とそれを用いた干渉計の運転、およびこれまでの研究のとりまとめを行う計画である。
