Research Abstract	平成12年度は、平成11年度までに研究開発したマルチメディア情報媒介システム機能を発展・充実させ、評価実験により有効性を確認すると共に、成果の外部発表にもつとめた。 (1)統括、全体としては、平成12年度に約320編の論文発表(学会誌・国際会議115編、学会口頭発表論文等205編、平成12年度までの本プロジェクト累計、各々394編、445編(計、839編)を行うなど、研究は当初計画を越える広がり、深さを持って順調に遂行されている。 (2)ストリーム型媒介システム研究としては、ストリーム記述方式として極めて汎用性の高い階層的記述方式の創案、ストリームフィルタリング機能の新方式の提案による改良、ストリーム編集機能の改良等を実現すると同時に、比較的大規模な評価実験によりその有効性を実証した。 (3)実世界型媒介システム研究としては、事象認識機能として道路空間での発生事象の高度な認識システムの実現、精密実世界媒介機能の一層の充実、広域媒介システム機能の評価実験の大規模化などを行い、従来の実世界媒介機能の一層の改良を行うと同時に、評価実験による有効性の確認を行った。 (4)ネットワーク型媒介システム研究としては、WWW空間のリンク情報(7000万リンク)等から組織的に情報の構造化(データマイニング)を超高速で実行する方式の開発や、ネットワーク環境におけるデータ創成やインタフェース機能の一層の充実などを実行した。
