Research Abstract |
This research was carried at first as Grant-in-Aid for International Scientific Research (University-to University Cooperative Research) and was preformed on the interchange agreement between Tianjin University and Kyushu Sangyo University and we obtained the following result. 1. Investigation : In China, we investigated the buildings and the factories that had deteriorated and need repairs. In Japan, we visited the Hyogo prefectural office, the Fukuoka prefectural office and the Tokyo metropolitan office, and investigated uses and seismic repair methods of buildings that we repaired. 2. I introduce seismic repair techniques in Japan by lectures and papers. 3. Experimental studies : In China, physical properties of continuous carbon fibers made in China were compared with the one made in Japan and experiments to investigate the effect of strengthening were carried out in the case that the continuous carbon fiber made in China were used for bending reinforcement of RC beams and columns and for shear reinforcement of columns. In Japan, we carried out the experiments of several anchoring methods of continuous carbon fibers. Then we devised the jointing method between RC frames and increasing RC walls or the steel braces with frames (that were most widely used) by means of thin steel plate and epoxy adhesive agent instead of the post installed anchors and carried out the experiments to promote the gluing strength and the ductility of the jointing part and found that this method was practical and valuable. 4. Technology interchange : We invited co-research worker to Japan twice and inspected the buildings under repair construction and experimental facilities. I visited to China twice too, and inspected the deteriorated factories then gave lectures about seismic repair and measures for concrete cracks of buildings.
